GENERATIVE AI
Generative AI by iStock – new image service by Getty Images
Getty Images joins the AI hype and now creates its own image service, trained on their own licensed images.
The stock photo agency Getty Images has now released a new image service for stock photos – Generative AI by iStock – which is based on generative AI. The development has been done in collaboration with the hardware and software company Nvidia, which has created the model "Picasso" to in turn be able to create AI-generated images.
Generative AI by iStock has been trained on Getty Images' extensive database of licensed images, which ensures that all image rights are contained within the model at Getty. Through the service, Getty hopes to reach small and medium-sized businesses that need to use stock images.
The management will have built-in restrictions for the image content, which means that you cannot create an image of the President of the United States, or a squirrel that appears to be created in a style that mimics a famous artist's. The reason is that the model should not be able to generate or recreate real events.
