Google Photos integrates into Samsung's TV with curated memories

Samsung wants your mobile photos to become a natural part of your TV experience, and for your memories to become a gallery experience in the house.

Samsung's new idea is that as a TV user, you should be able to use either Memories, Create with AI, or Personalized Results - to display your photographs on your TV.

By integrating Google Photos, users will be able to experience photos taken with their mobile phones without the hassle of transfers, similar to what Google Chromecast does today.

The integration allows you as a user to explore curated memories on your TV, organized by people, places, and meaningful moments. Google Photos will also expand the range of photo-driven experiences integrated with Samsung's Vision AI Companion (VAC) where memories are highlighted and experienced throughout the day.

Memories for the first time shows curated stories based on people, places, and meaningful moments on the TV. The feature will be available first and exclusively on Samsung TV for six months at the beginning of 2026.

Create with AI is planned to launch later in 2026 and uses thematic templates built on Nano Banana - Google DeepMind's model for image generation and editing. Here, users can also use Remix to change the style of the image, or Photo to Video to bring still images to life as short videos.

Personalized results, planned to launch later in 2026, will allow users to display related photos as a slideshow based on themes or content in memories, such as the sea, hiking, or Tokyo.
