It has now been 40 years since Apple released its first Mac – the Macintosh 128K – which is now widely used by photographers, video creators, and illustrators. We take the opportunity to list 40 image editing programs for Mac, worth trying.

With a price tag of $2,495 in 1984 – equivalent to 26,000 kronor in today's value – the introduction of the Macintosh 128K on January 24, 1984, was a success for Apple. The rest is, as they say, 'history', and today Mac computers are widely used by those working with photography, video, music, and illustration, a territory that Apple was quick to capture.
