Nikon Z8 gets pixel shift, bird AF & several new features
Nikon now releases a firmware update that provides new and improved features to the mirrorless full-frame camera Nikon Z8.
The Nikon Z8 received the awards "Top Class" and "Good Buy" from Kamera & Bild when it was tested in June 2023. Nikon is now releasing firmware update 2.0 – something that indicates a significant step forward.
New features include pixel shift now working with the Nikon Z8, something we have previously written about at Nikon Z f, with the ability to shoot 4, 8, 16, or 32 images in RAW format with pixel shift, to then be combined in Nikon NX into a 180-megapixel image.
The bird identification feature is also added, just like with the Nikon Z9, with improved autofocus. More information can be found at Nikon.
