Fujifilm X Webcam updated - now works on MacOS Sonoma

Version 2.2.0 solves the issues with Fujifilm cameras not being recognized by MacOS, and therefore not being able to be used as webcams.

For those who have not been able to get their Fujifilm camera to work as a webcam when connected to a Mac computer with MacOS 14.1 or later, there is now a solution. Fujifilm has updated the software for its Webcam X plugin, which now supports Sonoma and the first security update, 14.1.

The support was there and worked in version 14.0, but in conjunction with Apple's release of its security update to MacOS Sonoma, that is from version 14.0 to 14.1, stricter requirements were introduced for the software that manages the cameras as well as the hardware via the UVC interface.

One reason is that there should always be a green dot displayed in the operating system and that the light should be on when the computer's webcam is either on or an external camera connected to the computer is being used.

Many believed that the update would be released in conjunction with the newly released Fujifilm X100VI as well as several other Fujifilm cameras receiving their firmware updates at the beginning of April.
