Sigma släpper sex Contemporary-objektiv till Canon RF

Sigma meddelar nu att de släpper sex DC DN-objektiv i APS-C-format för Canon RF/RF-S.

Sigma meddelar nu att de kommer att släppa sex av sina DC DN APS-C-objektiv för Canons RF-fattning (egentligen RF-S då de är i APS-C-format). I och med licensen för tillverkningen blir Sigma bland de första att göra så med objektiv som har fungerande autofokus, tillsammans med Tamron som även de idag meddelade att de utvecklar sitt objektiv Tamron 11-20mm F2,8 Di III-A RXD till Canon RF.

Contemporary-serien från Sigma finns redan tillgänglig för flera andra fattningar: Sony E, Fujifilm X och Leica L-Mount, samt där tre av de fyra f/1,4-objektiven finns tillgängliga även för Nikon Z och MFT.

Lineupen gäller sex objektiv som släpps under 2024. Först ut är 18-50mm som är planerad att släppas i juli, följt av fem objektiv som släpps från hösten 2024 och framåt:

Det har talats länge om Canons strategier för hur eller när fattningen skulle öppnas upp för ytterligare tillverkare för att låta användare använda tredjepartsobjektiv med autofokus för Canons RF-fattning, där Samyang blev först ut under 2019.

I och med licensieringen kommer både autofokus, bildstabilisering och aberrationskompensation i kamerahuset att finnas tillgängliga, något som inte fungerar på objektiv utan kommunikation mellan objektiv och kamerahus.

[Main specifications and features]

Control algorithm including AF drive and communication speed optimization has been developed specifically for Canon RF Mount interchangeable lenses. In addition to realizing high-speed AF, the lens also supports AF-C (Continuous AF), in-camera aberration correction* and in-camera image stabilization. The mount is rubber-sealed to cater for use in a variety of environments.
